A new era of innovative and inspired storytelling.
On the heels of #TimesUp, Eos World Fund aims directly at the complex knot of abuse in the entertainment industry and plans to address the dearth of women throughout the cinematic and visual arts, despite there being a multitude of trained and talented women around the world.
Like Eos, the ancient Greeks’ Goddess of the Dawn, the Eos World Fund represents the desire to illuminate the world daily. And, like dawn’s persistence to bring forth the morning every day despite all obstacles, the Eos World Fund seeks to cultivate, nurture, and realize woman’s vision and voice as expressed in the creative arts.
By funding a curated, hand-picked group of visionary artists and their projects every year (projects are chosen through a nomination process) along with distributing and bringing critical attention through Eos's support, the Eos World Fund will contribute to a new epoch of innovative and startlingly inspired storytelling.

Nina Menkes - Minotaur Rex
Nina Menkes is one of the most daring, visionary directors in the world today though terribly under-produced. We are proud that Nina’s provocative Minotaur Rex will be the first recipient participating in the Eos World Fund since she represents the kind of filmmaking that combines artistic and cinematic innovation with a social conscience.
By choosing Nina Menkes as our first director both representing and launching the cause of the Fund, we set a high bar. We are announcing that we are looking for directors with innovative and startlingly inspired storytelling helmed by visionary women. We seek to bring the underrepresented female voice to audiences around the world. Nina Menkes’ seminal film which is both exclusively written and (to be) directed by Nina Menkes will be produced in Israel by Tony and Jiries Copti at Fresco Films.
Julie Dash - Cypher
Julie Dash is a visionary filmmaker with bold ideas that challenge perceptions and push the boundaries of film and the visual arts. Eos World Fund has selected Julie because of her practice, beliefs, and commitment to social change in the film industry.
As Julie Dash proves in her past work, “It isn’t enough to put a woman at the helm of films or in charge of studios, the basic building blocks of filmmaking need to be examined and viewed through a new lens.” Julie’s work is a testament to transforming shot design and storytelling both in front and behind the camera. With her next project, the Afro-futuristic thriller Cypher, Eos World Fund is excited to see how Julie will be enhancing the canon and how Cypher will become a game changer for the form.
